DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY
We settle into our idyllic Ibiza surroundings with some poolside vibes, welcome drinks, a delicious BBQ and open decks for anyone to jump on and get some early practise in before the learning programme begins.
Check into your accommodation anytime from 3pm and get to know the Orbit Team, retreat mentors and the other Orbit attendees.
Plus an introduction to the 5 day learning program from Orbit co-founder Doorly.
DAY 2: EVALUATIONS DAY
The aim of our first full day of the retreat is to evaluate your current level, asses the areas where you want to improve and then tailor the learning experience to fit your needs during the coming days. You will spend an intensive DJ technique session with one of our DJ mentors and will have an intimate 2 hour workshop with your chosen production mentor. You will also spend time with our marketing, branding and industry experts to audit your current profile and will be asked to set some S.M.A.R.T goals for your time at the retreat.
DAY 3: TECHNICAL TRAINING
After our initial assesment day you will be placed into groups of two which will remain your pairing for the rest of the retreat. Your pairing will be based on your current level and your preferred production software. After a healthy breakfast has been digested, you are your new collaboration partner will begin your rotation of intensive workshops with our Orbit mentors. After lunch we begin the second half of the day with an industry insights talk with one of our special guest mentors followed by jumping back into your pairs and continuing your rotation round the DJ technique, production and personal development workshops. We end the day with a voluntary guided meditation and breath work class to calm our minds.
DAY 4: ADVANCED TRAINING
We start the day with an energising yoga sessions, the perfect way to begin an intensive advanced training day. Picking right back up from where we left it the day before, we dive right back into our learning workshops. We delve deeper into more advanced DJ techniques with pioneer equipment experts taking you through all the latest hardware, we start to further develop our understanding of the production lessons from our chosen software and we start to have a better understanding of the direction in which we want to take our artist profile when we return back to the real world. We'll also start to put together tracks, samples and original edits ready for our live performance on the final day. As with the previous day, we'll be joined by an industry leading expert for a sofa talk after lunch and will end the day with more mindfulness and personal development.
DAY 5: PERFORMANCE DAY
We again start the day with a Yoga session for anyone to drop into, followed by getting straight into a full back to back day of live DJ sets. Your technical DJ skills have been elevated, you've shared music with mentors and other retreat attendees, you have new samples and acapellas added to your toolkit and you may have even produced a new track or edit to test out. You're ready to go! The final full day at the retreat is a celebration of everything you have learned and all the connections you have made and once the pressure is off from your live performance, you can either dive straight back into further learning with our mentors, or un wide by the pool with a pina colada. We end the final night with a big party at a location TBA.
DAY 6: DEPARTURE DAY
Feeling empowered by the knowledge that's been gained and the friends that have been made, we say our goodbyes, pack up our equipment and check out of our rooms at 11am.
But the Orbit experience is not over, we'll continue to remain in touch with you after the retreat is over as we start to deliver your new content including press shots, logo and brand designs, new bio's and your recorded mix, all ready to take to you to the next place in your journey...
ENHANCED LEARNING
Over the course of the retreat attendees will be set homework and tasks each evening to enhance their learning experience and work as tools during each day of the course. Each day an activity has been carefully devised to optimise the experience for everyone involved.
We will also include talks on protecting your mental health in the music industry, Starting your own club nights & record labels, group exercises, mindfulness and group Q&A sessions with our headline guest mentors.
This all sounds like a lot of learning, we know! But don’t worry, everything about our retreat is designed to leave you feeling rested, inspired and motivated, from the food to the additional activities such as yoga, mindfulness and some quality downtime together as a group. You’ve worked hard to treat yourself to this trip so we want this to be as much of a holiday for you as just an educational activity. And above all you will make new connections on this retreat that will become friendships and business relationships alike to last the rest of your life.
Previous students have signed to our mentors record labels, been booked for shows globally, taken on by our team for management or introduced to major labels with their tracks. If you have what it takes, we will help you get there faster, if you haven't yet, then we are here to teach you, by superstar international headline DJs who have been exactly where you are at some point in their career.
MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING
We are Hummingbird is a non-profit community of music lovers who have united to spread awareness of mental health by using music as a platform to encourage people to open up and engage in conversation.
We'll be joined by Ian Hurst, co-founder of the project and highly skilled communicator and public speaker on Mental Health and wellbeing. He'll be delivering a number of sessions over the course of the retreat focussing on ways to look after your mental health as a artist in the music industry and will also be available for one on one sessions at request.

Residencial Bogamari is a residential complex formed by independent one-floored Ibicencan style villas integrated within an enclosed common area of more than 6.000 m2 of huge gardens and a magnificent swimming pool.
Besides the regular services, Residencial Bogamari provides with 3 times per week cleaning as well as towel and linen daily change but with the independence expected by guests staying at a private villa in Ibiza.
Residencial Bogamarí is located at the municipality of Sant Josep, close to the Bay of Sant Antoni within a privileged quiet setting next to the seashore and the shopping area.
The residential complex is strategically located to visit the best beaches on the south of the island and just 15 minutes from Ibiza town and the rest of the island.
Our common area offers children swimming pool, playground and a private parking; all you need to enjoy a wonderful holiday with family or friends.
Please note that all rooms are shared accommodation sleeping from 3 - 7 people.
All places available at Orbit DJ Retreats are shared accommodation. As there are a variety of sleeping options in each of the fincas including double, single and bunk beds, we will allocate these bed options on a first come first serve basis.

ORBIT DJ RETREAT ANNOUNCES NEW DATES

The security, health and safety of you and your friends is always our number one priority.
Orbit takes the same approach when it comes to COVID-19 and have rigorous safety measures on all our trips so you can return to travel safely and concentrate on having a great time.
We maintain the same high standards in the countries we operate in and our trips operate in line with the regulations of local authorities, which we monitor continuously. Ahead of your trip we will send you clear instructions on how to stay safe every step of the journey, at the villa, in the local area and at the experience our retreats offer.
Our first Orbit DJ Retreat of 2020 was due to take place in May around the opening parties and closing retreat was due to take place in October around the closing parties, but the world had other plans for us. Orbit still could have gone ahead in October, however it didn't feel like the responsible thing to do.
Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic we have been in constant conversation with our resort in Ibiza, monitoring airlines, travel quarantine and monitoring announcements from each relevant governments. Due to the continued travel restrictions, Orbit will now take place from April 25th - 30th in the home of dance music capital of the world, Ibiza.
Orbit launched in 2019 in Ibiza and had plans to take place in unique locations across the world, however right now the focus in towards the opening retreat in Ibiza. Orbit DJ Retreats are immersive and holistic learning experiences for DJs and producers to elevate their skills and knowledge to the next level as a global destination event.
After our postponement, Orbit was delighted that the vast majority of customers have decided to take the option of moving their booking. Orbit is continuing to take government and local authority advice in regards to our April retreat which as it stands will continue as planned, however we can assure all existing and any new customers that if due to the global pandemic the retreat is unable to take place in April, then customers money is safe and the option of moving the booking to closing parties around 2021or receiving a refund will be be offered, including our non refundable deposit.
The retreat has also relaxed our payment terms so 40% will be due 2 months prior to April 2021 (February 28th 2021) and remaining 50% will be due until one month before the retreat (28th March 2021) which will hopefully give you guys flexibility you need during this period, post offering all students who couldn’t attend full refunds.
Foe the meantime, the team has put together a "directory" of Orbit favourite mentors offering their bespoke and intimate online tutoring sessions. This directory will enable you to contact each of the mentors the retreat works with and speak directly to them about your needs for elevating your music careers. Orbit will not take a commission for these services, therefore prices can remain extremely affordable and the cost of the 1-1 sessions will go directly to the mentors. More details on this to follow in the coming days.
All current bookings on instalments will have their payment periods extended, and monthly payments amounts will be reduced automatically. If you have any questions about the changes or retreat program, please get in contact with us at info@orbitdjretreats.com
INSURANCE & REFUNDS
We require travel insurance for all our trips before you travel with us. We don’t offer travel insurance for sale and we cannot advise or recommend any travel insurance providers. You may wish to check with your bank or credit card provider whether you already have an annual policy in place.
If we need to cancel or postpone a trip due to COVID-19 related reasons, you will automatically be booked onto the new dates, but if you cannot attend the new dates, you will be entitled to a full refund.
SAFE PLACE
Our on-site staff are trained to follow all local government safety protocols, and we are actively monitoring and evolving our solutions to ensure the safety of our travellers and staff. Our partners are equally committed to maintaining high safety protocols, including regular and thorough cleaning of villa rooms, and food and beverage areas.
PRE RETREAT
Orbit will update you with detailed emails that share our recommended health and hygiene protocols in accordance with local government guidelines specific to your trip, as well as pre-trip training around how to recognise COVID-19 symptoms to ensure you are as prepared as possible.

What is the refund policy?
Does my experience or technical knowledge effect whether I can attend or not?
One of our co-founders Doorly answered this question for us and here's what he said –
”I started my career in a bar collecting glasses, I absolutely loved music and was collecting records at home and one week the opportunity finally came up when the regular dj never showed up and I bravely stepped in to cover having never played to a venue or people before. I managed to get the gig on a regular basis and was soon playing 6 / 8 /10 /12 hour shifts and pushing myself and teaching myself all the time. I wish i had someone to show me the ropes then that would have fast tracked my learning and help me avoid some big mistakes along the road of djing 20 years later Im now a global ambassador for Pioneer but still learning constantly and looking at my peers and industry leaders for inspiration and new challenges. There’s no level that is too basic or too advanced to join us."
How does the shared accommodation work?
We have taken over a beautiful Finca in Ibiza with an intimate and exclusive feel. All places available are shared accommodation. Some shared accommodation has multiple private rooms, others do not. If you are booking with a group of people we advise that you book the amount of places available in that room, however you can also book single places in shared accommodation and you will be placed with another Orbit Student.
As there are a variety of sleeping options in each of the rooms including double, single and bunk beds, we will allocate these bed options on a first come first serve basis for the people who book onto the retreat and their chosen accommodation option first.
Please note rooms are mixed gender.
What is the payment schedule?
We ask for a 10% non refundable deposit to secure your place at Orbit with the following instalments. Please note, if you decide to pay in full, you will receive an Orbit care package on arrival in your room
• Minimum of 10% to secure your booking.
• Minimum of 40% must be paid at least 2 months before retreat.
• Full balance must be paid at least 1 month before retreat.
You can also pay off any amount at any time by logging into your booking. The above payment schedule is valid for your total package value including meal package if you have selected this.

How much is the deposit and when do I need to pay my balance?

Is food and drink included?
Orbit does not offer meal plans. Rooms have self contained kitchens and students are allowed to bring their own food. There will be food delivery and meal options delivered one month before the retreat for those who do not want to bring their own food.
Is there a supermarket nearby?
Yes, Supermercado is 9 minutes walk away or 2 minutes by car.
Why are the retreat options different prices?
Bogamari has a limited capacity with different bedding configurations in each Villa. The more people you share with means the less it will cost and the fewer people you share with increases the package price.
If you’d like to have your own room, this would be the same as purchasing 2 packages given the limited capacity. Please email us if you would like to discuss this option further.
Is there an age limit?
Orbit is an 18 and over retreat.
How do I get from the airport to Bogamari?
It's a short 20 minute taxi from the airport. Please note, it's important you get cash out before you arrive as the taxi card machines do not have reception when they drop off.
What is included in my package?
5 nights accommodation, tutoring and syllabus, professional press shots, logo design, gig in Ibiza, video interview, networking with industry leaders, mental health talks, wellness activations and much more.
How do I get to Orbit showcase events in Ibiza?
Please note, it's your requirement and cost to get to these Orbit showcases. You are not required to play, but there is an option in case you want.
What is included in our gift pack?
It will be released after the retreat has sold out, last years attendees received an array of complimentary Orbit gifts ranging from membership vouchers to headphones to merchandise.
What is the alcohol policy?
There is a fully operational bar on site at the retreat, you are welcome to purchase soft drinks throughout the day, but we ask that people do not drink alcohol during the learning sessions. Social drinking after the sessions have finished for the day is permitted, however we ask that people remain respectful and mindful to themselves and each other.
We recommend that all attendees have retired for the day no later than midnight to maximise the retreat experience.
